You can play a key role in the spiritual formation of kids! Whether you're an up front kind of person or you'd rather serve behind the scenes, we can connect you with just the right opportunity to make a difference. To ensure the safety of our children and volunteers, all MBC Kids volunteers are required to complete a background check.
MBC Kids Sunday Mornings currently has openings for:
- Welcome Center - play a key role in creating a great first impression for kids and their families by greeting them, checking them into the computer system and helping them get the answers to their questions.
- Special Buddies Team - this new team is being formed to meet the needs of a growing number of special needs children and their parents. A special buddy will be matched carefully with the right child and family and equipped with training and support to ensure the best possible experience for everyone. This vital ministry team will have a tremendous impact on children who need to know how much Jesus loves them, and on their parents who need the opportunity to worship, worry free, knowing their child is in good hands.
- Nursery - if you desire to show the love of Jesus to little ones, this is a great place to do it! By serving on a rotating schedule, once every 4 or 5 weeks, you are partnering with parents to provide infants and toddlers with their first impressions of God and his love for them.
- Substitutes - Minister to both kids and volunteers by being available to serve in a variety of ways, ensuring that on Sunday mornings, children in MBC Kids consistently have an adult who loves God and is dedicated to teaching this His truth to them.
- Preschool (2 - 4 years old) Volunteer - we desire for these kids to always know that God loves them and is their friend, so a lot of what we do in the Preschool area involves teaching who God is. You can be part of this - in the classroom through crafts and activities and even snack time, through worship and music time, or by volunteering as a storyteller.
- K-4th Grade Volunteer - we focus on helping kids develop a strong sense of security in who they are as unique individuals created by a God who loves them and wants to have a personal relationship with them. Volunteering as a small group leader or as a large group worship leader gives you an opportunity to be a role model and have life changing impact in lives of kids.

Cornerstone (Sunday nights @6pm) currently has openings for:
- Check in & Welcome - Prep check in stations, greet kids and their families with a smiling face, and serve as a campus guide when needed to help everyone feel welcomed.
- Elementary Small Group Leader - Designed to give volunteers the chance to develop relationships with students, this is an opportunity to encourage and challenge kids as they engage their faith by exploring the Bible more deeply and its impact on their daily life. Hands-on activities and crafts will reinforce the lessons, and leaders will participate with their kids in game time.
- Games - Coordinate one of the most popular times of the night - Game Time! The fun of this time will be integrated with the key ideas of the kids' Bible stories and workbook lessons.
- Nursery & Preschool - These volunteers play a vital role because they provide care for the children of other Cornerstone volunteers. The preschool program will offer first Bible memory verses, basic songs, Bible stories and crafts along with playground time, weather permitting.

Creative Arts: Do you have a passion for using the arts to communicate the Gospel? Do you have creative and design skills, or musical talent? The Worship Arts and Communication Ministries have numerous opportunities for both up-front and behind-the-scenes ministry on Sunday morning and throughout the week.
Campus Support: Are you looking for a way to make a big difference behind the scene? We have many opportunities for people who want to serve on teams that minister through stage set-up and tear-down, landscaping and gardening, and campus facilities projects and maintenance.
Technical Skills: Are you the “computer geek” all your friends and family turn to for help? Maybe you really enjoy working with numbers, or have experience with database systems. Your skills can have Kingdom impact by supporting vital ministries and equipping leaders and their volunteers for effectiveness.
Serve and Encourage One Another: Is it your desire to reach out to those who may be in crisis or facing difficult circumstances? Ministries like the Care Team and the Shepherd’s Freezer & Pantry give you the opportunity to extend a helping hand to someone in need.
First Impressions Teams: Do you enjoy meeting people and helping them have a great experience at MBC? The Ushers and Greeters Team, the Guest Follow up Team, Parking Assistants Crew and Shuttle Drivers all form a key part of shaping a guest’s experience so that they experience the love of Jesus from the moment they come onto our campus.

MSM (www.marketstreet.org) ministers to the homeless, helpless, and hopeless in northern NJ by meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs through a structured program which enables them to lead responsible, productive lives. MSM provides food, shelter, clothing and other necessities, and meets emotional and spiritual needs with guidance and life change programs.
Volunteers from MBC help with kitchen clean up and meal service on a monthly basis. Small groups have done projects in the MSM thrift store and we've run donation days to collect items to be sold in the thrift store.
MBC Volunteer Coordinators: Jim Flood (Serving Meals) and John Joyce (Kitchen Clean Up). Email localministries@millingtonbaptist.org
The Relief Bus (www.reliefbus.org) consists of two former school buses now customized into mobile resource centers to help the poor and homeless. Friendly faces serve up food and love demonstrating genuine care. This allows volunteers to discover other needs and then connect people to resources and faith-based programs which often transform lives and in many cases actually save lives. The Relief Bus provides a first step to freedom and new life for those in great need.
Volunteers from MBC help prepare the food and then go out on the Relief Bus to Newark, Harlem, and the Bronx on a regular basis - either monthly or more often.
