Membership Covenant

As a member of the Millington Baptist Church, I covenant with my church family to:

Knowing Jesus…

·         Attend worship services regularly, as a priority in my life

o   welcoming the opportunity to praise God in the company of fellow Christians and listening for His voice in the music and spoken word;

·         Participate in the observance of the Lord’s Supper

·         Devote myself to spending personal time with the Lord

o    reading Scripture, reflection, and prayer, on a daily basis if possible;

·         Grow in my knowledge of God and of the Bible

o    through regular, disciplined study;

·         Live in keeping with principles of Christian conduct

o   relying on the Holy Spirit to guide and empower, and trusting in God’s forgiveness when I fail;

·         Lead others in my family to know and follow Him.

o   as much as it is in my power to do so.

Being Jesus to each other…

·         Walk in love with my fellow believers

o   starting with those of my own family, lifting each other up in my prayers, my speech and my actions;

·         Serve the MBC family with my time and talents

o   working alongside others to meet the needs of the church and its people;

·         Support the work of MBC with my financial gifts

o   in proportion to the means that God provides.;

Bringing Jesus to the world…

·         Witness to the power of Jesus in my life

o   and lead others to have faith in Him, praying for their salvation;

·         Support MBC in its efforts to reach others

o   both locally and throughout the world, with the love and Good News of Jesus;

·         Be part of God’s transforming work in the world around me

o   as He calls and provides opportunity.

·         And if I move away from this area, I commit to joining with another Bible-believing church.
